The Science of Personalized Delivery

The right formulation is only half the equation.

At Strive, we believe how a medication reaches the body matters just as much as what's in it. That's why we've built a broad range of delivery systems, each with its own role in supporting precise, individualized care.

From LPT® liposomal technology to customized oral, topical, and specialty formulations, every format below reflects one core idea: medicine should fit the person, not the other way around.

Liposomal Technology (LPT®)

Modern Science. Everyday Convenience.

Liposomes are microscopic lipid-based structures that encapsulate active ingredients within a protective carrier, supporting stability and transport throughout the body. At Strive, this means formulating medications as convenient chewable, oral tablets that tap into the properties of lipid-based carriers.

Strive offers a growing portfolio of liposomal formulations across multiple clinical areas, with additional products planned as our offerings continue to expand. Liposomal technology (LPT®) has expanded formulation options for many of our most commonly prescribed medications, enabling oral, chewable dosage forms in cases where they weren't previously available.

These patient-friendly formulations provide prescribers with additional prescribing options while supporting Strive’s commitment to personalized medicine.

Disclaimer:
The potential benefits described herein are based on published literature, and the liposomal advantages are based on general liposomal drug delivery literature. Neither the potential benefits nor liposomal advantages have been independently verified through clinical studies of specific compounded products by Strive Pharmacy. LPT® is licensed by Strive Pharmacy.

Oral Delivery Systems

Two white compounded tablets

Solid Oral Forms

Traditional swallowed forms that provide familiar, flexible options across a wide range of patient and prescribing needs.

Capsules:

One of the most adaptable oral formats available, capsules can accommodate a wide range of active ingredients and compounded strengths—making them a practical choice across a broad spectrum of medication needs.

Tablets:

Tablets are a familiar and reliable dosage form that provide precise dosing. Strive’s compounded tablet formulations are based on our most commonly prescribed medications, allowing for efficient turnaround times upon receipt of a valid prescription while maintaining dosing precision.

Flex-Dose Tablets:

Strive’s Flex-Dose tablets are designed with both prescribing flexibility and patient convenience in mind. Each tablet is designed to be easily divided, allowing providers to prescribe multiple dosing options from a single tablet strength. This innovative approach simplifies provider-directed dose adjustments, reduces the number of different tablet strengths a patient may need, and makes it easier for patients to achieve their prescribed dose.

Two square white troches

Sublinguals

Available in multiple formats, sublingual formulations are designed to be administered under the tongue or between the cheek and gumline, where active ingredients are absorbed through the oral mucosa. This route can be especially useful when absorption through the oral mucosa or an alternative to oral ingestion is preferred.

Troches:

Troches are a lozenge dosage form designed to dissolve gradually in the mouth, most commonly placed under the tongue or between the cheek and gumline. They can contain a variety of active pharmaceutical ingredients and are available in multiple strengths, flavors, and formulation options to support different medication needs. Depending on the active ingredient and formulation requirements, troches may be prepared in different bases, such as wax-based or gelatin-based formats, to support the patient experience.

Liquid Oral Forms

Liquid Solutions:

Liquid solutions are formulated with active ingredients completely dissolved within a suitable vehicle for oral administration. They are particularly useful when precise dosing volumes, individualized concentrations, or an alternative to solid dosage forms is desired. The selection of the vehicle can play an important role in formulation characteristics, as certain vehicles may support the solubility, stability, and absorption of specific active pharmaceutical ingredients.

Topical Formulations

Topical medications are applied directly to the skin or mucosal surfaces. They may be prepared as creams, gels, solutions, ointments, or other compounded formulations. The selected base and formulation design can influence how the medication interacts with the application site. This allows for localized applications such as for skincare, as well as transdermal or mucosal applications where systemic or targeted support may be desired. This versatile dosage form allows prescribers to select formulations that align with the specific health goals of each patient.

Nasal Delivery

A nasal spray bottle, a nasal rinse bottle and two capsules

Nasal formulations are designed for administration through the nasal cavity and may be prepared as sprays or solutions. This versatile dosage form allows active pharmaceutical ingredients to be formulated for nasal administration when appropriate, supporting localized, systemic, or specialized delivery approaches based on the medication and formulation characteristics.

Injectable Formulations

Injectable medications are administered through routes such as subcutaneous, intramuscular, intracavernosal, or intravenous delivery, depending on the medication and clinical application. This dosage form provides an alternative route of administration that bypasses the gastrointestinal system.

Strive offers carefully developed injectable formulations across a variety of clinical categories, offering providers with established formulation options to support individualized patient care.

Vaginal Formulations

Two white vaginal applicators

Vaginal dosage forms are designed for administration within the vaginal cavity and may be prepared as creams, suppositories, inserts, capsules, or other compounded formulations. These preparations are commonly used in women’s health, including hormone-related medications. Depending on the active pharmaceutical ingredient and formulation design, vaginal preparations may provide localized support or systemic absorption when appropriate.

Rectal Suppositories

Two prescription bottles with suppositories beside them

Rectal suppositories provide an alternative route of administration when oral or other dosage forms are not suitable. They may be used for local application or for systemic medication delivery when appropriate. These compounded preparations can be customized to meet individual patient needs per the provider’s prescription.
