So…what is compounding?
It means we customize your medication’s ingredients and dosage form (pills, lozenges, troches, injections, ointments, oral, topical, etc.), distinctively for you. We can combine different medications, treat multiple concerns with one form of treatment, and customize your dose, instead of just throwing you whatever inflexible options are on the market. Compounding opens up a world of personalized treatment that is still pharmaceutically sound and rigorously regulated, but personal.
Real talk: Is compounding safe? What standards does StriveRx follow?
Emphatically, yes. Not only do Strive’s medications adhere to state and federal regulations, but we also go far above and beyond regulatory standards to ensure safe, quality medications.
This looks like…Vetting all of our vendors and pharmaceutical ingredients through a rigorous qualification process.
Constantly testing raw materials, active ingredients, and finished compounded products via third-party analytical assessment, ensuring sterility and potency.
Continuous training for all Strive compounding pharmacists and staff to demonstrate proficiency and cultivate mastery in their roles.
An internal quality assurance program that regularly monitors and audits processes and procedures.
Integral and unwavering commitment to sanitizing equipment and facilities, preventing cross-contamination, and maintaining aseptic conditions.
Healthcare is personal to us, meaning we never settle when it comes to safety and standards. Striving is in our nature as a company, and this shows up in our unrelenting quality.
How is StriveRx different from other pharmacies?
The short answer: We’re a compounding pharmacy that cares about people.
The longer more impassioned answer: We’re a compounding pharmacy, which means that instead of dispensing whatever fixed options the big pharmaceutical market offers, we consider all your health factors and formulate custom medications, just for you.
We’re different from other pharmacies because we believe healthcare has become a huge industry that sometimes forgets the human element, even though humans are the whole reason healthcare exists. We’re striving to fix this imbalance. That means when you walk into Strive you’re seen and welcomed as a real person with a real life and unique needs. That means instead of numbers, we see distinct human beings looking to lead fulfilling, healthy, happy lives where every aspect of their wellness is taken into account. Nothing thrills us more than helping people strive for their very best life.
Will insurance cover my compounded medications?
Some insurance companies do cover compounded medication, some decide on a case-by-case basis, and others don't cover it at all, but the benefit of compounding is that it makes treatment accessible to everyone.
Compounded medications are frequently cheaper out-of-pocket anyway because insurance companies use a tiered system to decide what they’ll cover and how much they’ll cover.
Sometimes asking for a lengthier prescription can also help cut costs. A lot of work goes into compounding medications, so a 60 or 90-day supply is efficient and could save you money in the long run.
We’re happy to help you look at your options!
Does compounding work for children’s medications?
Compounding can be really beneficial when it comes to children’s medications. It’s not a fun time for anyone when kids have to suffer through medication they hate. At Strive, not only do we take sensitivities and preexisting needs seriously, but we can affect application method, form, and flavor, making treatment an all-around pleasanter experience.
What about pets?
Yes! Your furry family members have sensitivities and preferences just like we do! If they hate their medication they might spit it out or resist treatment, but compounding means we have more options, including making treatments taste better or making them easier to disguise.
