This product is derived from a porcine source, desiccated pig thyroid, so please be aware of any dietary, religious, or cultural restrictions that may occur in patients.
Should not be used for the treatment of weight loss. In euthyroid patients, thyroid supplementation within the range of daily hormonal requirements are ineffective for weight reduction. High doses may produce serious or even life-threatening conditions.
Hypersensitivity to thyroid hormone has not been known to occur, however allergic reactions may occur in individuals with an intolerance to animal proteins or excipients.
