The optimal Nature Throid dose varies based on age, weight, condition severity, and thyroid hormone levels.
The lowest recommended dose should be used to achieve a euthyroid state.

TSH blood test should occur 6 to 8 weeks when initiating therapy or after any dose adjustment. Once stabilized TSH levels can be obtained every 6 to 12 months.

Use of desiccated thyroid in the elderly should be approached with high caution due to potential cardiac effects.
This product is derived from a porcine source, desiccated pig thyroid, so please be aware of any dietary, religious, or cultural restrictions that may occur in patients.
Should not be used for weight loss. In euthyroid patients, thyroid supplementation within the range of daily hormonal requirements are ineffective for weight reduction. High doses may produce serious or even life-threatening conditions.
Hypersensitivity to thyroid hormone has not been known to occur, however allergic reactions may occur in individuals with an intolerance to animal proteins or excipients.
