IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT COMPOUNDED MEDICATIONS
Compounded medications are specially prepared for individual patient needs based on a valid prescription issued by a prescribing healthcare practitioner and, as such, are not reviewed or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for safety or efficacy. Compounded drugs should only be used in patients whose medical needs cannot be met by an FDA-approved drug. These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. The potential benefits described herein are based on published peer-reviewed literature regarding GHK-Cu as an active pharmaceutical ingredient generally, and the liposomal advantages are based on general liposomal drug delivery literature. Neither the potential benefits nor liposomal advantages have been independently verified through clinical studies of this specific compounded product, and characterization data presented are intended solely for formulation development purposes; they are not clinical efficacy data or evidence of therapeutic benefit.
This information is for educational and informational purposes only and should not be construed as medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Always consult your healthcare provider before starting any new medication to determine whether it is appropriate for your individual circumstances. Contact your healthcare provider with any questions regarding a medical condition.
*LPT® is licensed by Strive Pharmacy. Follow all instructions from the prescribing healthcare provider and report any side effects immediately.
This compounded medication is only available when the commercially available product is unavailable or when a prescriber determines that there is a clinically significant difference for the patient.

Do not use GHK-Cu LPT® if:
- You have Wilson's disease or any other condition causing abnormal copper accumulation or impaired copper metabolism.
- You have Menkes disease or other hereditary copper transport disorders.
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
- You are breastfeeding.
- You have a known hypersensitivity or allergic reaction to GHK-Cu, copper compounds, or any inactive ingredient in this preparation.
- You have active liver disease, as the liver plays a central role in copper metabolism and excretion. Use with caution and under close medical supervision.
- You are under the age of 18, unless specifically directed by a qualified healthcare provider following appropriate evaluation.
- You have active cancer, a known malignancy, or a personal history of cancer, unless you have discussed this risk with your provider.
GHK-Cu LPT® may cause serious unwanted effects, including:
- Copper toxicity — Signs of copper excess include nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, and in severe cases, liver damage, kidney damage, and neurological symptoms.
- Systemic allergic or hypersensitivity reactions — including rash, urticaria, angioedema (facial swelling), difficulty breathing, or anaphylaxis.
- Unknown long-term systemic effects — as oral liposomal GHK-Cu has not been studied in formal long-term human clinical trials, potential effects from prolonged use are not fully known.
The most common possible side effects of GHK-Cu LPT® may include:
- Nausea or mild gastrointestinal upset
- Headache
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Fatigue
- Flushing or warmth
- Mild metallic taste (related to copper)
GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding tripeptide composed of glycine (G), histidine (H), and lysine (K).3-5 It has a high affinity for copper ions (Cu²⁺), forming a stable and biologically active complex that enhances copper's bioavailability and intracellular activity.4,5 This interaction is thought to activate key biological pathways involved in wound healing, collagen synthesis, hair growth, immune function, and angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels).3-5 Additionally, GHK-Cu may exhibit antioxidant 3-5 and neuroprotective properties 3,5, further contributing to tissue repair and overall cellular health.
GHK-Cu LPT® uses a liposomal encapsulation system — nanoscale lipid vesicles studied for their potential to support medication stability and absorption. Strive's dual-layer formulation first forms an inclusion complex around the active ingredient to promote solubility, then encloses it within surrounding phospholipid bilayers.
Potential Advantages of Liposomal Technology
The following statements are based on general liposomal drug delivery literature and have not been independently verified for this specific compounded product.
- In published literature, liposomal formulations have been reported to support the stability of sensitive drugs and safeguard them from degradation in physiological and gastrointestinal environments.1,2
- Published research suggests liposomal formulations may feature pharmacokinetic profiles designed to support systemic absorption.1,2
- Liposomal encapsulation has been studied for its potential to help shield active ingredients from degradation and maintain product quality and shelf life.1,2
- Liposomal technologies have been explored to address key challenges in oral drug delivery, including poor solubility, instability in the GI tract, and variable absorption.1,2

Does liposomal GHK-Cu need to be taken with food?
No. The lipidic formulation itself provides the vehicle for absorption, so it doesn't depend on dietary fat to create that environment. This enables absorption through multiple intestinal pathways simultaneously, including lymphatic uptake via lacteals, direct transcellular absorption through enterocytes, and endocytic uptake. This means the delivery mechanism is intrinsic to the formulation itself rather than borrowed from the meal.1
